Holeshot Hunter
Meet the inventer of the Hunter FlatBars as well as many other products that make your life easier and more comfortable. Ken Hunter is an engineer intent on designing products for health and the environment. He established Hunter Design Group (HDG) to bring some of his ideas to fruition and the market. Our current efforts are going into developing The FlatBars motorcycle division, which is involved in promoting products that protect the riders hands from pain and numbness, carpal tunnel symptoms, and other problems experienced by motorcycle riders.
Development
He started working on the FlatBars prototype to eliminate some of the stress and strain he felt in his hands. When other people complained of similar problems, he realized that he could market his idea. The FlatBars ergonomic shape helps a lot, particularly for people with smaller hands, but the major damage is caused by the vibrations that are transferred to the riders hands through their handlebars. Ken worked on eliminating those vibrations by testing different products until he was finally satisfied. After years of tests, and numerous modifications, Ken set up the FlatBars team and launched FlatBars at the 2005 Cycle World Show in Long Beach, California. He is an engineer and a perfectionist. He is still working on tweaking the design, but after hundreds of sales, we have had no complaints, and few requests for switchbacks.
Products for your hands
We had a lot of requests for heaters for the FlatBars, so we developed a Heater Hunter FlatBar. People were concerned about switching back to regular round bars, while keeping the vibration damping when they sold their bikes, so we developed the SupR DampR switchbacks, for people who want the vibration damping but are not ready to commit to the FlatBars shape. And now we are adding Leather Gel Gloves for even more comfort.
